2008-10-21Artemio861010Yesi would like to ask a follow up question regarding this matter. the supply voltage is 220V
2008-08-04marc10101010NoWow, thanks Dave. I think that's just what the doctor ordered.
2008-08-04Joe10101010YesThanks Dave! This relay is for a power fail alarm circuit. I have an electrolytic cap across the coil to add a few seconds of delay to eliminate an alarm condition from momentary power hits. Will leave it powered and test it periodically to see if the relay core becomes permanently magnetized.
2008-07-02rishabh10101010Yesthank you very much sir
2008-06-13Murray10101010NoDave, thanks for the quick reply. I will double up the diodes (2 in series with each other = 2KV breakdown), making the assumption that the series string of capacitors is somehow getting unbalanced and the voltage distribution is not equal. Best Rgds Murray

2008-04-23shod10101010NoUnusual problem/question, honest, short and to the point answer. Thanks for taking the time to consider my madness.
2008-04-17Mike10101010YesThanks so much! I was so confused trying to figure this out for myself: "How can I get a 0.5 ohm resistor rated for 288 watts? That CAN'T be right! I obviously don't understand something here!" You gave me just the right info; makes perfect sense. This is great!

2008-03-21Dave10101010YesThanks for the reply! Too bad my idea won't work. All these years I thought water was a pretty good conductor. But a quick test with a cup of water and my multi-meter confirms that water is a pretty lousy conductor after all (hair dryer warnings notwithstanding). Also, too bad the dialers don't allow you to configure what resistance thresholds to trigger your alarms with; that would be another low-cost solution. Interestingly, the Sensaphone does allow you to configure each input as either Dry Connect or Temperature, and the latter allows thresholds to be specified for the alarms. If that's nothing more than a variable resistor, perhaps my idea still has a little hope... Thanks again! Dave
2008-03-11Hannah1010910YesThanks! You were so polite and gave me an excellent response. Thanks again!
2008-03-09ian9101010YesThanks Dave Your information not only confirmed what I knew, you gave a specific site to source the how to do it yourself link. Much appreciated
