2007-04-18Barry Cull108910NoThank-you Dr. St. Zieba. We academics have an annoying habit, don't we, of making apparently simple questions quite confusing? I heard Dr. John Dunne recently talk about the relationship between Buddhism and the current mindfulness (movement?) as detailed by John Kabat-Zinn. He made many of the points that you raise and suggested by way of conclusion that Mindfulness does not equal Buddhism. That being said, ideas are often co-opted, reinvented, discovered, shared and re-discovered over time. I think what I was after was a source where the phenomenological world-view (what I understand as a central aspect of existential) could be traced to early Eastern traditions. It's likely that this is far too naive a question, not being a scholar of philosophy - I am out of my depth here. Again, thanks for your help. all the best Barry Cull

Byl prosty i jasny, a czasami ciezko o latwa odpowiedz kiedy zataje sie takie filozoficzne pytania.
