2009-01-24Jon10101010YesThank you immensely for the superb information. Pure excellence. Of course, I wish I had consulted your advice before signing the franchise agreement. I'm a fool. But there is still hope for a turnaround, I suppose. Although the anxiety and sleepless nights wondering about the future of the franchisor is starting to weigh on me and is affecting my household. The franchise experience has been an expensive education to me if nothing else. Oh well. Keep up the good work!

2009-01-06Bernard10101010YesThanks! I read their proposal carefully and you're right - it says I have to have my own attorney review everything they do. Another added expense on top of the $50,000. And thanks for the tips about writing our own franchise operations manual. Makes a lot of sense.

2008-05-18Robert10101010YesThanks so much for you insights. You're 100% right about a new east coast franchise company selling a franchise in California. Too bad we didn't have you to consult with at the time. And, I'll let our principals know about the Nagrampa vs. MailCoups case, since it's in California and will probably apply to our binding arbitration clause if the relationship heads south. Finally, thanks for the "business" advice on trying to handle the situation. We were ready to fire off a legal letter based on our thinking we lived up to the contract 100%. Now, I can see the issue is more complex than we thought and a legal letter now would be a big mistake.
