2009-11-23Jason10101010NoHi John, Thank you very much for the response. I tried to pull the seat, but the fourth bolt just spins, threads are stripped so couldn't remove (any suggestions are welcome for THAT problem), but pulled all wiring, and didn't see any damage/crimps/splits/burns... anything. Rewrapped it all and reconnected multiplugs. It works! I'm just mad that I have no idea what the solution was in case it happens again. Any ides on how to pull that last torx bolt? Bolt threads stripped, but won't budge out. Anyhoo, thanks again! Jason

2009-10-19Mike Eagar10101010YesThanks John, I experieced a similar problem with my Classic and replaced the cam. The improvement was noticeable and I suspected the same for my Disco. However, not being a fundi, I needed some assurance before repplacing the cam and lifters - you've given me that, so I'll do the necessary and let you know how it goes.
2009-10-18Jane10101010YesVery good. I will send more questions. The Range Rover seems to be a very quirky car.
2009-10-18Bill10101010NoThanks for the info!!
2009-10-17Steve Kanter10101010YesThank you John. Your answer was right on the money. What I ment by an "inexpensive fix" was, is there an alternative way of fixing the regulator other than replacing it. Of coarse you have no idea of what my capabilities are, so you answered in a standard manner, using available parts, which is understandable. I bought a use regulator from a junk yard (mine was missing the half moon gear attached to the regulator). It had a bad window roller. I removed the bad window roller from the regulator I bought, and replaced it with a good window roller from the original regulator. And it works great. my total expense is about $50.00 and two hours of my time. Several years ago I figuried out how to replace the air suspension systems in Ford and Lincoln cars (and turn the air suspension light off) using coil springs. Now many companies are offering these conversions, but when I did it, no one was doing it. Again, thank you. I will recommend you and your service to others. How would I become a volunteer for AllExperts? Steve Kanter
2009-10-07Paul10101010NoThank you John. I will check the oil as a last resort but this morning when I got to work in cool weather it was playing up so it seems to be dying. Regards, Paul.
