I'm also thinking about what tools I might use to efficiently perforate the nylon shell over large areas with tiny holes (water resistance isn't needed). I have found sheet makers claiming to use 100% uncoated nylon for special-order garments. That's what I'll buy from now on, instead of trusting a catalog description of breathability.
