| 2009-10-21 | Ken | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | Yes | Thanks for the help, Its funny you mentioned Daytona(which we ran this year) we were on the phone talking about how some of the "teams" were running camber & toe, and air pressure. Seemingly in road course racing most passing is done entering, exiting turns. However, my son's argument is Daytona, small road course, long oval. Dilema: run higher psi, less toe, or set the car up neutral. I never dreamed road racing could be so technical, most think if one has a fast car you will win(being a old drag racer--65yoa, I thought this) But this is great fun and doing it with my son----PRICELESS. Thanks again Dan. Ken |

| 2009-05-12 | Leon | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | No | Thank you very much, Dan. I'll find a shop with a dyno and a good tuner. Your general comments about water/methanol injection were helpful. If you are wondering why I don't just intercool, it's to avoid the large throttled volume and the associated poor throttle response that intercooling causes on a supercharged Miata. Because the SC set-up requires the thottle body to be moved and placed ahead of the blower, and the blower is on the opposite side of the engine from the intake manifold, it's a long way already from butterfly to intake manifold. Add an intercooler and the throttled volume becomes way too much for me. A turbo dosen't have this problem because the throttle plate can stay right at the intake mainfold, after the turbo and intercooler. Thanks again. |
