He answered my question in a way I could understand the answer. I recently went to a French restaurant in New York City called Nice Matin. I asked the wine expert "Sommolier" ( pardon my spelling )the same question that I asked Mr. Farrell. The Sommolier seemed to be very well versed his knowledge of wine in general. The restaurant did have a wine list consisting of at least 10 pages. He said almost the same thing as Mr Farrell. I guess he was however more complimentary about the value. He gave me some hope by saying that the wine was from a very good area in France, but he was not familiar with that vintage. He told me to check the internet with my question. I can answer most any question about wine- types, styles, grape varieties, regions, vintages, proper storage, production, wine and food pairing, wine service, decanting, proper glassware, serving temperatures etc. I can't answer questions about spirit valuations.
Experience
I have over 20 years of experience. I was a wine buyer and sommelier in NYC for many years including 4 years at Windows on the World which was NY's number one wine restaurant. I created and taught a Wine Appreciation Course at Borough of Manhattan Community College.
