2009-04-04Ryan10101010YesMr. Ashe, Thank you very much for your QUICK and insightful tips, I really appreciate the help, and I will let you know how things work out for me, although I will not be able to make the trip for a while (have to save money for the trip) which is good because I need the time to make sure to condition myself and my rifle to make perfect shots from different positions, as you have stated before. Thanks again, and Happy Hunting, Ryan
2009-03-28Robert Ruder10101010YesI could not have ask for a better response from an expert. Very timely, and to the point. Unfortunately, I was hoping the gun was worth more.... but at least I got a fair price AND a nice lever gun!

2008-11-30Mark10101010YesThanks Steve, Your answer is what I was looking for. I guess the best thing for me is to start hitting the gun shops, and see what fits me best. Also, thanks for the suggestion on the cartrige size, I wasnt aware of the grain limitations on the .308 .

2008-04-29Patty10101010NoThank you Steven, Your answer makes such good sense. When you are in the middle of a dilema you do not always think clearly. I think I will stay with the remington 700 CDl 243 in the left hand model. I'm sure i will keep it for a long time and maybe my daughters will have to shoot with the bolt on the wrong side for them when they get it from me. If I decide to try bigger animals I will just be happy to get anothet gun! I'm a good shot and like to practice and of the 3 animals I shot at so far all did go down on the first shot.I think as a beginner the lighter caliber is likely to get more practice shots because of the lighter recoil. Thanks again, Patty
