2009-10-18Megan10101010YesI'm still confused as to what she is so I will take your advice and take her to her vet when I can. Thanks a lot!
2009-10-14Maria10101010NoI will start by saying THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! I have to say this is great advice because I'm totally against the test that was verbalized to me. However, cutting the nail shorter and getting a couple drops is a great concept considering I've had a bird that this has happened to and used the styptic powder to slow and eventually stop the bleed. Awesome!!! Petey is kept warm daily with a lamp that makes his living arrangements, hopefully more cozy. He has heat lamps that are about 20 inches from his cage and doesn’t go a day without them. I guess I am a good mom huh, who'd figure... So traveling with my lil buddy is not too much of a concern I hope??? :) I really think the advice given to me can be usefully administered for Petey's continual health and current health issues. I want him to be a happy friend, and with this information I can do as much... I don’t want to neglect his issue and I believe he will be a friend continually as long as I do my part. Thanks for your prompt reply and your welcomed information... :) God speed!!!!! And again .....

2009-10-05Lori9101010YesWhat a wonderful response, very heart-felt. Just what I needed to hear to make me feel better about the situation and to not deny another bird my love and devotion. I am looking forward now to searching for another bird although I miss the one we lost terribly. This really help me to cope with the situation and move on! Thanks so much!!!

2009-09-27Orville10101010YesRev. Dr. S. August Abbott, Thank you for your very, very prompt responses! Your information was greatly appreciated. I am a new learner with Bernie, my Goffins Cockatoo. I have had Bernie for less than a year, but in that time period I have learned his abilities and character and he has learned mine. He knows me better than I do! When I got upset at him in the past, he rushed away from me and would not come back, some times for days and weeks. Now he knows I don't mean any harm to him and when he sees I am getting upset, he goes to the top of his home and does tricks to pick me up mentally. Then he comes right back and tries to play with me to get me to relax. Your information I have printed and will keep for future references. Thanks again for your help! Orville
