2009-10-02carol10101010Yeshello again, i have read and re-read your reply it is so interesting, and i had never gone down that path of thinking like that before but for me the best part was how you put the explanation into todays format, ie- you had been convicted and the judge revealed himself etc. etc. thats the best way ive ever heard it decribed and it really did touch me i do thank you so much for your all the information, and the time also you have given me with your clear explanations i have checked briefly your blog already, and will return to it when i have more time thank you once again best wishes carol

2009-09-23William10101010YesA good and informed postulation. I can recommend the Book of Jasher by Simpson as a fascinating "fill in the blanks, history of the jews"
2009-08-31Kevin10101010NoThank you for your thoughtful reply. I do disagree with how you see things, but I appreciate your polite way of expressing yourself. You certainly hit the nail on the head regarding how people fail to convince each other. There ae nane sae blin' as them as wilnae see. Well yeah, if you wilnae see the problems in the Bible, I'll never show them to you. Anyway, saying Judas fell instead of the truth that he hung himself (because not mentioning hanging was the cultural norm) is interesting. Bit of a problem for a book of truth, but that adds a valuable perspective. Thanks!

2008-09-12Matt10101010NoThank you for sharing the insight you do have. I was curious because I have always liked church history and I noticed in history how churches can vary in doctrine and practice from one location to another. I did short term missionary work in PNG and it was interesting to see how the culture was very different then it is here. Here you are surrounded by "Mega" churches, how to improve your life doctrine and a variety of unbiblical ideas. I was curious if that was common place elsewhere.
2008-09-03Michael10101010YesRev. Ross, To the contrary you provided me with much more than adequate counsel. You greatly lifted my soul through God. I am a sinner and I made mistakes in the marriage and as a human, still make mistakes. I always try to apologize and ask for forgiveness. When I see others refusing to do so, it crashes my idealistic views, you know. :) As you said and I agree, God gives all of us free will, a tremendous blessing, even if we misuse it. I have printed off your response and follow your respected and valued guidance. So very grateful to you. Not even my own church has offered what you have for my soul. Blessings always.

Expertise

I am happy to offer answers to anyone with a question that refers to the Christian Faith in its widest possible sense. I believe that the Bible is the living Word of God, and seek to base all of my life on its teaching. I also have some knowledge of some of the cults, and of Islam and Judaism. Of course, my answers are just one man's thoughts, and I would always advise a questioner to check with others, and with the Word of God.

Experience

Served as a full-time parish minister in Scotland for about six years, and then spent the last thirty as a teacher (now 'retired') of Religious Education in Secondary Comprehensive schools (ages 11-17) while continuing my own preaching and teaching ministry. I also believe that learning is a life-time process, and have recently completed a Master's degree in Divinity.

Former Presenter on Revival FM - a local Christian, community radio station, broadcasting in west central Scotland, and online at revival.fm Involved with a number of organisations that support Christians who are currently suffering persecution in some 70 countries around the world.
