2009-11-24Jack Megran10101010YesBob - turned out to be a faulty breaker in the breaker box. You were heading me in the right direction and for that I thank you
2009-11-24Charles10101010YesBob, thanks for getting back to me. We did a process of elimination and the problem was the wall outlet 'upline' from the one that wasn't working properly. Could not visibly see anything wrong with the wire or the plug itself, but replacing it fixed the problem. I'm sure you were right: had something to do with that neutral wire; just couldn't tell by looking at it. Appreciate your feedback.
2009-11-23Diane1010910NoThat's exactly what I needed to know - thanks.
2009-11-22scott10101010YesThanks! Nice to take the guess work out of electrical!
2009-11-22Donald10101010YesBob, You are fantastic. Following your advice, I connected the GE Cook Top to the electrical supply service and it works beautifully
2009-11-22Robert1071010NoYour first paragraph was unclear. As I said, the breaker hadn't tripped. I replaced it with no luck ($55-refundable). The electrician who came today found one of the outside 110 lines had been purposely disconnected. My landlord has been trying to evict me for over a year, illegally. I put a lock on the outside panel box. All better now. Thanks.
2009-11-21John10101010NoThanks. Good to know you are there to help the handyman around the house.
2009-11-21Jane10101010YesThank you for you quick response! I haven't dug anywhere in the yard, and power is on at house end. The shed is over 20 years old, and the electric in it worked until about 2 years ago. I guess I'll replace all the electrical parts in the shed.

2009-11-19Matt10101010YesHi Bob, Thanks so much for your prompt reply! I am a first time home owner trying to do as much as possible on my own and will probably be in contact again. In this case, I actually went a step further and stripped the wires back about 6 inches and started over from scratch. After a bit time, I was able to get the fixture working again. There must have been an exposed wire or compromised sheath somewhere in the terminal 6" of wire. In any event, I'm all set. Sincere Thanks, Matt
2009-11-19Steve10101010YesBob answered my question sooner than I was expecting, and helped me solve my problem. My only experience has been with Bob at All Experts, I could only hope that if I ever had a question for one of the others, that they could give me the same type of straigh forward, dependable, and timely response like Bob did! For someone to out preform Bob, they would have to actually "fix-it" FOR me! Thanks again, to Bob S. and everyone who makes AllExperts possible! Steve Parnell

2009-11-12Mike1091010NoBob's response was very helpful. Based on his input, I will not use the timer that I purchased because he indicated it is not appropriate for my application. I will follow his suggestion to talk to an electrical supply house and Leviton customer service. Thanks, Bob!
