2009-08-17Liora10101010YesClyde, thank you for your prompt and insightful response. It is reassuring to get feedback from someone who can confirm that this was not how the amends process was meant to be. In the end I think he did not want to face the intensity and honesty of my response. He told me that most people simply either accept or reject the amends without much discussion. Your comment that I am going through grief really struck a chord. When I was younger I lacked the emotional tools to really process this loss in a healthy way and I never had the courage to express how he had hurt me. Even though I am disappointed in the outcome and lack of resolution, I am glad that I had the opportunity to have my voice heard. And, intellectually at least, I know the healing process is in my own hands and he will never be the one to give me the comfort I seek. This website offers a great service, thank you.
