2008-12-03Laurette10101010YesThe answer to my question was very knowledgeable, timely, and clear. Thank you for the info. I really was happy with the length of the answer because I didn't know any of the facts that were given about the FCC/Fairness Doctrine/Shortwave Radio. What a wonderful service this is.

2008-09-26Bob10101010NoWhat a great reply! I thank you kindly for your effort and intend to seek added info from the web sites you offered. It is good to learn the reception is not relative to AM reception. God bless!
2008-09-22John Bowman10101010YesGeorge: Tnx for your valued assistance. I did stumble on to the resolve after putting a dummy load on line. Bands in my loccal are not in the best of shape with low clouds and rain. 73, john

2005-03-11Jerrod10101010YesGeorge, thank you so much for your explanation! You nearly got the Tulsa station I was talking about, KVOO was a great guess, but it was KFAQ 1170. Still great info though! Now I've given up on listening to the so called local stations at night. I listen to the San Antonio station since it comes in loud and clear. Just has the occasional weak cycle throughout the night. Thanks again, you're the greatest!

2004-06-17tony smith10101010YesThank you again, George, very much. There's not a lot of good (and nice) help out there (kind of got laughed off of eham.net -- me just a lowly SWLer, you know). Kaito USA gave me Tecsun's (parent company's factory email address -- maybe they can just tell me which are the pertinent capacitors, and if they need to be adjusted) -- so I'll try them, tho' I don't speak Chinese, so hope they can translate. The Kaito is still almost as sensitive as my Sony SW1, which cost $300 in 1988. The Kaito cost $27.95 in 2004. So, tremendous performance anyway. My Mini World 100 PE performs about equally, and $29.95 at Radio Shack (and shortwavestore.com has refurbished ones for $19.95 -- and saw one on ebay for $5!). So, I'm splitting hairs, like you suggest. I'll see what Tecsun has to say. Thank you again. Eric P.S. Grundig is finally discontinuing the YB300PE. Read that the Porsche design G2000 is internally basically the same radio, but unlike the 300, it has many bad reviews. It looks nice, tho'. Have you seen the Degen DE1103? Just when I was wondering if they were .....
