But I was intimadated by the older students when I asked the question of who would win in a contest. I may have asked the question wrong but I also think I should have spoken to the instructor directly about my concerns. I also need to realize that this is a study of martial art and not just self-defence. Thanks for helping me with my perspective on this subject. |

Expertise
I hold a 5th degree black belt in aikido and co-chief instructor at an aikido dojo in upstate New York. I have written a book on the application of aikido`s mind/body state of centering in everyday life. I would be happy to share my understanding of aikido in response to questions on the martial art of aikido.
Experience
I have taught aikido for over 20 years and worked with its mind/body principles off the mat for 23. I am also a certified qi gong therapist.
