2009-11-15beverly9101010YesThank you for getting right back to me, I hope the lupron will work for him because I think the vet is not overly experienced with the surgery. She said she would only operate if the left gland was involved, if it is the right she would send me to Kansas City where the vet has better vascular equipment, this makes sense to me. I have been looking for a pet loss support group in the area, I am pretty depressed and upset about this so I really appreciate your kind words and good advice.
2009-10-31Chelsea10101010YesThank you so much, i never realized the urgency of his problems with urinating.. It's hard to hear that surgery is his only option now because it is so unbelievably expensive.. I need to take him back to the vet right away... :( Thank you again, you've help me more than you could possibly know..

2009-10-08Sam10101010YesThanks! =D I had heard a rumor about them introducing the bigger european ferret stock but wasn't sure if they had actually done it or not. We are well versed on deaf ferrets he is a deaf sable from a defect in his ear he has a little 3% hearing in one ear. But from the moment I received him we have been working on hand signals and vibration training and everything is going fantastically! Thanks for you quick response it is greatly appreciated for me and my cat sized fuzzbutt.
2009-10-08Amethyst1010910YesThis was someone who really knew what he was talking about. He helped me to understand what might be wrong with my ferret and he was really polite about it. He also offered websites and brands of food than might help.

2009-09-25Danielle10101010NoThank you for your response - I might hit a thrift store this weekend for a cheap ferret/baby toy. And you were right, they were all lazy and mellow last night, but tonight they were FLYING around the room at playtime!! It really put a smile on my face. :)

2009-09-14Christine10101010NoThank you for your time and caring. I appreciate your timely reply. History for you in case you were curious: I had rescued him and his brother from a naval family that was moving and didn't want them anymore. I've had them over a year. I tend to take in ferrets so had gotten to six and was getting a little over whelmed with all the cleaning. A friend of mine owned ferrets before and always loved playing with mine when she came over. I gave those two to her a week ago. She said he was fine the day before, woke up yesterday morning and he was at the bottom of the cage with blood pooled around his mouth. Again thank you for the time and caring.
2009-09-12Amanda10101010YesThank you so much for your help, Jacquie. Your response to my question contained some helpful tips and I can really use those right now. Alfredo stayed in the hospital for four days, where his blood glucose was monitored and regulated. He began eating more regularly and his energy level increased. He is now at home again with us and may turn out to be okay. My vet has informed me that he may live for a while (months to two years) depending on other factors such as if his condition worsens or he develops any new problems. We are just very glad that he came out of that critical state and we can have some more time with him. Thanks again for your help.
2009-09-09Liz10101010YesThank you SO MUCH Jacquie! This was extremely helpful. I really appriciate this feedback and will definitely get back to you with an update. Thanks again and have a great day!!
2009-09-07JAY10101010Yesgave me very good advice to ask my veterinarian when I take him in shortly. My vet is very knowledgeable, but never considered the injections. WIll definately be asking if it is an appropriate course of treatment for my little fuzzy
2009-08-06Tonya10101010YesThank you so much for your help. I have the Marshall's flea and tick and the conditioner and the daily spritz, and yes it does help some. Thank you again so much and I will ferret proof my home because I dont like animals in a cage except at night when I cant see him.
2009-07-30raven10101010Yesthanks for your help
2009-07-29Kassie10101010NoThank you for your info. I am going to start trying this strategy as soon as I get home. Yes I have tried the wiggle the finger thing too (I think at that point he pretends to be blind too) Kassie
2009-07-27precioustj10101010YesI want to thank you for your advise and your candidness. It has been a struggle as to whether or not to put them down but they both are still very playful when they are up to it. It is a hard decision to make as I have had them both for such a long time. They have both been there for me in time of emotional need and can not imagine them gone but I will take it day by day. The baby oil run is a great idea and will start that today. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR KIND WORDS AND PRAYERS!!
2009-02-16christine10101010Yesvery very very helpful =)
2009-02-06Jessica10101010YesThank you so much. I called the pet store and he is taking care of the problem.
2009-02-04Jill Anderson10101010YesAwesome! This is the type of answer i was looking for. Not the whole "Spoil" her approach. Im so sorry to hear about your girl passing =( it is very very sad. Its very funny though! When I see Polli in her cage and i wake her up I always say "Good morning stinker!" hahaha! Thanks for your help! I will definately come to you for future advice!
2009-02-02Jennifer10101010YesThank you and yes i let them both play as long as their precious big (big being full of love) hearts want. and I know that Gizmo is happier with Gonzo because he was sleeping with him instead of his favorite place to sleep. It was the most amazing and cutest thing i ever saw I love both as they where my own children because they are my babies I will get back to you about the vet check up. no amount of money is to much for me i will pay as much as i can to keep both healthy Thank you so much

Proper and EARLY vet care is PRIORITY #1 for sick ferrets. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE FOR A SICK FERRET - PLEASE, IF IN DOUBT, GET THEM TO A VET!

Experience

I ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS WITHIN 12 HRS OF RECEIPT but I cannot control when the system delivers your question to me. F.Y.I.GENERAL FERRET CARE/INFORMATION: http://www.cypresskeep.com/ferretarticles.htm */*FIRST AID FOR FERRETS: http://miamiferret.org/fhc/ffaid.htm */*FIND A VET HERE: http://www.ferretcentral.org/for-others/db-vets.html I have nursed ferrets through many illnesses and a variety of diseases over the years.Ferrets are so very delicate, yet incredibly strong-willed; a well-loved ferret will fight courageously to live if given proper medical care, monitoring, and especially lots of TLC. A ferret can entertain for hours on end when they know they are the center of attention; and they can make even the grumpiest person laugh through life's difficulties. They do require a LOT of time, love and daily care, but the love you give a ferret always comes back to you tenfold! I dedicate the time I spend helping others here to my precious little ones who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge. They taught me how to laugh, to love unconditionally....and how to live each & every day to its fullest, and I am forever grateful.
