2009-08-26Molly10101010NoThank you, Maura, for your very timely and descriptive response. It seems that the oil wasn't yet dry when I tried to sand it off so it gummed up the paper. In the end, I felt like I needed an expert to actually LOOK at the thing the good 'ol fashoined way. So I put it in my car and brought it to a refinisher who said it looked great, it was actually just the grain of the wood I was seeing and that I should to continue my Tung Oil applications. I admire you for taking the time to help out total strangers.

Also you have eased my doubt, regarding being compensated fairly or cheated by my friend. In all fairness with what you told me, he has more than treated me right and I intend on expressing that to him. 2008-12-04monica10101010YesAgain, I am really surprised by how spot-on, helpful and practical this answer is. I already called a woodworker and a painter over to my house as well as contacted the manufacturer to figure out what to do with this table and Maura nailed it right away. I will take this advice to the bank and can't tell you how much grief and money this will save me--a do-it-yourself solution that will work exceeded my expectations on what to do about this problem. Thank you so much again! I love All Experts and especially Maura!
