| 2009-11-19 | Carolyn | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | No | This was a great response -- although I was hoping that the answer would be a different one -- that clearly allowed me to set up my business and get UE when I wasn't working for a client. |
| 2009-11-19 | Scott | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | No | Brian, thanks for your recommendation. I have a meeting with her tomorrow to review her performance issues and her options - wish me luck. I'm sorry for the loss in your family. -Scott |
| 2009-11-18 | Charles | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | No | Awesome reply:) Thanks VERY much. It seemed the company made me an offer today to not contest UB and they even gave me a severance of over $5k so it's clear they know the goods I have on them are worth the few grand it will cost them to make me "go away". I have 7 days to have a lawyer review and if need be, will sign, collect 18 months and this may even raise my VA check. Best regards, Charles |
| 2009-11-17 | Angelina | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | Yes | Thank you so much for your rapid and HONEST response! |
| 2009-11-16 | Norma | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | Yes | Thanks for the input. LA Workforce referenced "the last 18 months". If they only go back 18months, then I worked for the church for the full amount of time. My last day to work was 9/11. I filed my first claim on 9/12. The problem is that I can't get a living person on the other end of the line. I'll keep trying. Thanks again. |

| 2009-09-12 | Shannon | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | No | Thank you for your advice Brian and you are right it did me no good to have a union. I feel it was more exhausting going through this with a union than to have just handling it myself. I live in West Virginia I felt it there was a breach of confidentiality and the rules of just cause were not followed. I did file for unemployement, luckily we have a two income household so it was not a severe blow...you win some you lose some. Thanks so very much. |
| 2009-09-11 | Bren | 9 | 10 | 10 | 9 | No | Your prompt and informative response is greatly appreciated. You are right that many people wrongly consider hours worked when paid on a salary basis but the "exempt employee" system does seem to favor the employer. While I might not be willing to "pay back" my employer if I worked less than a prescribed amount of time (and just what would that amount of time be if one is salary), that just doesn't happen (at least in my case) as often as it happens that I put in a great deal more hours per pay period than my hourly counterparts. |

| 2009-08-20 | mupelesi | 8 | 10 | 10 | 7 | Yes | thank you for the good insights.the truth is that i did not snnop the information on that gentleman's salary. i became aware of it becausehis documents were vrought to me to process for payroll data by virtue of being the human resources officer of the company.further, like i said the head HR is the one who told me that she talked to my supervisor who admitted that it a mistake and apologised for it.thank you though for your candid response. |
