2009-10-12Laurie1010910YesThank you Cynthia for your reply. I have since been to my appt. and the rheumatologist was very thorough. I will see him again in two weeks when all of my bloodwork and xrays are back. He was pretty convinced that it is a malar rash, it has the butterfly shape and spares the nasal folds. There is a lot of swelling, pain, and fluid in my joints and we will know more when the tests come back. Thanks again.

2009-07-29Nadine7101010YesIt was hard rating Cynthia on the Knowledgeability aspect based on my question. I am sure she is very knowledgeable about the disease itself and the information she offerred was comforting. Unfortunately to date, I haven't been able to obtain a solid response to what can stop the shedding of hair due to Lupus or what components cause hair loss in Lupus patients. This was a tough one because doctors haven't been able to answer that question either. I want to thank Cynthia for her response and her suggestions. Cynthia's suggestions were ones that I hadn't heard of or had been offerred before now, not even from a doctor. Cynthia thank you. I will definitely contact those places to seek an answer or treatment that might lead to a solution to this particular problem. I am grateful today that hair loss and occassional joint pain have been the main afflictions for me and not something more sinister of the disease. Together lets keep plugging away until we can find the answers needed to our questions about this disease! GO, FIGHT, WIN!
