2009-01-25Steve Sornberger10101010YesThank you so much! I've been trying to find out what this car was for years. Now I just have to find one.
2009-01-21Jim Van Loon10101010YesJeff, Wild. Have forwarded info to my brothers. Car is parked out front of Bungalow apartment in Hollywood, CA. Hope he enjoyed it because his situation was about to change in December 1942: I was born! Thanks much!
2009-01-19Amy10101010YesVery knowledgeable and it wasn't even a complete picture of the car! Thank you

2008-07-28terry thayer10101010YesThanks for the info. Your answer does seem plausible. Thank you for taking the time to respond as the dilemma of this question was driving me crazy. I STILL haven't seen a photograph of a 1939 Plymouth with this particular headlight ring on it, they are the really big ones I think you were mentioning. The only place I have been able to see a photo of them was on the web site of the guy parting out the 1939 Plymouth and he didn't have any idea of why the round ones were there with the square headlight buckets. In any case thanks, at least I can say I have some kind of explanation of this situation.
2008-07-25Lyn101099NoThank you! You gave me just the info I was wanting!

2008-04-19Rachel10101010YesYet again you have astounded me with your knowledge!! Thanks!!
2008-04-07Allison10101010NoIt was a Crossley! The only thing I could remember was that there was a 's' in the name. I knew if I heard it I would remember. Thank you very much!
2008-04-01Terry10101010YesDidn't expect to receive a response so quickly - and time is of the essence! Was not able to answer my specific question - and quite honestly admitted that, but then went on to provide several links that might prove useful. All in less than 24 hours. I very much appreciate your help. I own a business in the auto body/paint industy and do a lot of restoration work, so I've bookmarked this site for future reference. Very impressive!
2008-03-27Rachel10101010YesI am very thankful. You know your stuff!

2008-01-03Lisa10101010YesI do have access to it, but I will have to check on the trunk. I know it was Playboy Pink because I decoded the plates on it. Do you happen to know how many were painted this color?
2007-12-22Franklin10101010YesThanks Jeff, It helps settle a question between friends. He sold me a 37 which turns out to be a 39. GOOD for Me.

Expertise

I can answer most questions on vintage-car history and trivia, but there are three things I can't help with: 1) repair questions 2) "where-can-I-find-the-VIN-on-my-car?" questions 3) what's-my-car-worth questions I'm not a mechanic, I can't know the location of every VIN plate on every vehicle ever made, and I can't appraise a vehicle I can't see.

Experience

I've been a classic-car fanatic my entire life, and have spent most of my free time studying the automotive industry and its history.
