2009-11-03luci10101010NoAgain - I love this site and your timely responses. It is so helpful to not have to wait when you are worried about your pets. Thanks again for all the help. I guess it takes a village to raise a fish :)
2009-11-02luci10101010NoThank you so much for being so prompt and helpful. I did put salt in when I put in the new water (had to drain 1/2 the tank for transport)(whew). I just love having a name for them.

2009-10-04Richard10101010YesThanks for the advice, and the incredible timing, last time i posted somthing it took almost 7 days, you took about an hour! i scooped out the stuff with a cup, it worked good. unfortunatly, the fish i bought was from a clearence/closing down sale at the store so i cant return it. but thanks for the help! ill ask you if i have any more questions.
2009-10-03Carol10101010NoMichael, Thank you for your help but unfortunately 'Blue' didn't make it. I brought him home on a Wednsesday night, started the Melifix on Saturday and he was gone by the time I got home from work on the Monday. I did everything I could, including joining an oscar's web site where I posted some pictures only to find out 'Blue' wasn't even an Oscar! As it turned out, 'Blue' was a Severum Cichilid! I got really attached to old 'Blue' really fast and now I want one (well ok, two). I'm going to have to rearrange some furniture to see about putting in another 75 gallon for them though... I have taught the original owner a little about what and why this happened to his fish and he has cleaned his tank properly and has being doing much better. Hopefully the Gourami left in the tank won't have the same problem's as 'Blue'. Thank you again for your help. Carol
2009-10-02Brittany7101010NoThank you very much. that site helped me out a lot.
2009-10-02Jessica10101010YesThank you so much for your help... turns out the fry is more then a week or two old and i probably didn't see the others and they might have gotten eaten by the other fish or died somehow.
2009-10-01kim10101010NoThanks again for all of your help. I'll buy some salt today.

Expertise

I can answer most questions on freshwater aquariums involving the biological cycle, live plants, fish compatibility, stocking quantity, feeding, filtration, aeration, water chemistry, and cleaning. I am still learning about some certain diseases and parasites but am more than willing to research any questions that I do not know.

Experience

I have owned multiple freshwater fish tanks over the years. I also help maintain other people’s freshwater fish tanks. I am currently a college student at Minnesota State University Moorhead for a major in Biology and a minor in Zoology. I'm also currently employed at Petco.
