2009-05-26catherine10101010YesThanks Marla. I thought this was the right way but I needed to be sure? I have seen some beautiful doilies and I am in the learning process. I can't wait to complete my hand made lace. I will contact you If I need more help. You will be my number one source for help.

2009-04-28crystal10101010NoThank you Marla as a matter of fact no one answered before you, so thank you very much. I did try to do it with a small hook and yarn I ended up with a pretty cute doiley oval shaped for under my napkin holder:) The center puckered a little but I think I can do it.

2009-03-08Monica10101010NoBeing relatively new to this - I was so grateful that Maria got back to me so quickly, spent time doing research and gave me insight I 'never' would have thought of.
2009-02-27Ginger10101010NoMarla, thanks so much. I spent a little more time pouring over the pattern instructions, and you are correct--apparently, Aussie's say "Miss" for "Skip." Ginger
2009-02-19Michelle10101010NoThank you so much.
2009-02-14Andrea10101010NoThank you, Maria for the response. I did try unraveling, but wasn't successful. I went to the store today and will start over. I shed some tears and lost a night of sleep. But, fortunately, I still have 3 more months before baby comes, so hopefully I won't make the same mistake again!! Thanks again! :-)

2008-12-17Judith10101010YesThe first sentence answered my question. I was not counting the ch.2 as a dc. I was only working on one stitch could not figure out how that was a decrease.
2008-11-15dmoore10101010YesHi, THANKS Marla! I will try your idea for the pattern maybe I and/or you can still come up with the answer to the problem . Thank you for being there and for the timely answer . D

2008-10-11Paula10101010YesThanks so much. I may have more questions as I get into this because I am just not understanding how the cable is built. But I will take it one step at a time. I really appreciate your prompt reply.
2008-09-14Sara Davis10101010YesOh my gosh! You are my savior!! Thank you so so so much. The way you wrote it out for me was so much easier than what that pattern said!! I also found out that not only is it European, the pattern is also about 100 years old!! Lol. Anyways, thank you again for your awesome help!!

Expertise

I have crocheted many doilies, I enjoy working with crochet thread. I have crocheted numerous afghans. But I have little to no experience in hairpin lace, or the afghan stitch. If you have a question pertaining to a pattern in a magazine, book or leaflet, please include the name and # of it, and the page or pattern #. There is a slight possibility I may have that pattern, and can refer to it. Although I have crocheted sweaters and slippers,I don't feel I have done enough of them to really give good advice as to assembling the pieces, but can give advice on the type of stitches.

Experience

I have been a crocheter for almost 30 years.
