My whole idea was to keep some of these runners a little more honest! Some people may consider this questionably honest? But hey I have seen more cheating and waaaay worse dishonesty in my sons' 2 little leauges that we have signed up with that it makes me SICK. Here all I am doing is interpreting the rules correctly. Also you would,(maybe)be surprised at how many umpires have no clue as to the real ruling on this! One told me " pitcher has to have his foot 6" off the rubber. I guess in light of the steroids abuse and cheating on thier ages this is nothing. I can tell you this; YOU will see this again. It will work and work very well! Done right. I am a baseball umpire. I am certified for High School (NFHS), and work in Missouri (MSHSAA). I also umpire for local leagues that use both NFHS and OBR.
