2009-09-13Rhonda1091010YesThank you Tom! The computer is loading to manufacturer specifications now. I am so appreciative for your help with this problem because my godson who went to computer school did not know what to do and he was able to help me with your explainations. My computer was purchased 2002 and I ordered the computer with the parts I wanted from Dell and it does not have a disk called recovery but it says reinstallation. I am used to having books sent witht the computers and I would be able to format the computer and reload the recovery disk with no problems. These computer companies no longer want to provide you with a guide to operating your computer when you purchase it. I can't begin to thank you because in this day and age you can not fare well without a computer. I have a lap top but i like my desktop, it is my base.

2009-09-02Adam1010910NoI meant to say HP start up screen; not sure why I threw Dell in there. Regardless, you were right about the boot order. I fooled around with this once before, and tried to put CD-Rom at the top. The first choice was listed as [Disabled]. I changed the order so that it boots to my Hard Drive first, and now the problem is solved. Don't know how or why it got switched around, but what matters is that now it's fixed. Thank you so much for your help! Much appreciated.
