2010-02-27JudithAggression101010YesThe answer was very clear and offered me many suggestions which I will try. I felt hopeful after reading the answer that we may be able to change the dog's behavior and keep him in our family. I would like to let Jannie know that we travel between 3 houses. Our primary residence is in NY, we spend 4 months here in Florida and about 2 months in Maine. We have been following this routine for 2 years. Foley seems to handle the changes well, appears immediately familiar with the locations. In all places we walk him, he has no contact with dogs other than our own. He has always responded well to guests although sometimes being too boisterous. We usually put him on a leash until he settles down. Thank you so much for your response. Judith

2010-02-23SharonFacial hair loss101010NoThis answer was very helpful. I understand that the vet is the expert, but it's nice to hear something other than...Oh, it could be this or that and we really won't know until we've run some tests. We do plan on taking him to the vet, but we are also going to try the recommendations provided by Jannie. We switched his water bowl to metal (we were using plastic) and we'll be changing his collar. Thanks Jannie.

2010-02-16TeeBoxer Dog 40 lbs/101010YesI also agree with self feeding, as I have done with all my other dogs. My boyfriend now believes in feeding her twice a day which I know a few people who do, but since we've been putting her on a feeding schedule, she always eats when we give it to her and then she goes to the bathroom right away. We are gone during the day and she doesn't get any food while we are gone, because we think she may have accidents when we are not there to let her out. So we feed her once in the morning before we leave and then once when we get home near dinner time. If she's still hungry, she waits outside the food cupboard and lets us know and we give it to her because she tells us if she is hungry or not. Maybe we will bump up the amount of food we give her and I am calling the vet to ask her if she's familiar with the boxer breeds and also about the food issue. I have always believed in self feeding as well, but with the type of dog she is and having accidents while we .....

2010-02-10veronicboxer behavior101010YesThank you so much for helping me. Our boxer has been a part of our family for so long that I really didn't want to find him a new home. But, my children are my priority. I am going to take your advice and hopefully find a solution for this problem. I am willing to help my boxer in any way I can. Thanks again for you advice.

2010-01-30HeatherStud out my male101010YesThis was so helpful. I have tried countless times to figure out how to register him. I really really appreciate it. You were so prompt and informative.
2010-01-30jillconstipated orphan boxer pup10210NoI did appreciate your timely response but I felt like you did not really read my question , it seemed to be a rather canned response. If you had read it you would have understood I had been doing this for over ten days so obviously i knew all about what your response referred to. I wanted to know what to do if a 15 day old puppy suddenly stops pooping for over 24 hours. i took him to the vet and he gave me the stuff to do an enema and that helped. also for your information in case you get another question like mine. He was inbetween the time of having always be stimulated and pooping on his own. He now poops on his own after eating. I was actually inhibiting that natural response by not putting him down and leting him try to use his own muscles to do it himself. Also I asked you how much to feed him and you did not answer that question at all, instead you touted your own formula which I am very happy that works for you but I decided to take my vets advice. All in all I feel lke .....
