2009-11-24Sean10101010NoOur thanks for your response unforunatly our baby became too dehydrated after two doses of the furosemide and was unable to recover from the pneumonia and added stress on her system from the lasix, our vet in houston confirmed yours and our suspicion but we were too late in stopping the innapropriate medication. We are thankful she is no longer in pain but regretful of the vets treatment here. I believe in the future we will keep an appropriate anitbiotic combination on hand as well as childrens liquid echinacea which we were recommended for respiratory illness in rats. Unfortunate as well that things go downhill so quickly with smaller pets especially if it occurs on a weekend when good educated help is scarce. Again thank you for your help and recommendations our baby is at peace and after a while we will open our home and hearts to another rat friend. P.S. our last ratty lived 7 1/2 healthy wonderful years!
2009-11-20Kat10101010YesThank you for the time taken to help me with my questions on my rat Dumbo. You've helped a lot with my worries. And hopefully I can get her better now. You guys are amazing!
2009-11-17Jasmine10101010NoThank you so much. I believe I am doing well with her seeing how she warmed up to me quicker than the experts say it would take. She already runs to the cage door to greet me when I announce I am there and lets me hold her after just a few days!!! Anyways thank you so much, now I know I am not irritating her or scaring her.
2009-11-16Jennah10101010Yesthank you so much i was not aware of that. thanks for answering my question at the best of ur ability it was very helpful to me.
2009-11-10Katy10101010YesThank you so much for your input. One ear is looking a little better now, but the other still looks sore so I think it's time to find a local tack shop. And I will take him to the vet if I have to, but if theres something I can do at home I would prefer that! All the best, Katy
2009-11-05Jess109910Yesthank you so much for your answer i will take her to the vets as soon as i can to get the tumor removed! :)
2009-11-04susan1010310Nothanks! I don't have the suppliment yet, but have tried turkey baby food, and yogurt as an addition to regular foods. I will offer the brocoli also. Thank you, I am checking all their teeth now! My rat is seeming much more himself and they are all together much happier.

2009-10-13Lori8959YesWe found out that it was bacterial. Sir Edgar is on Val. Syrup 0.25 bid. It started after we got another rat. Gizmo has similar but less breathing trouble. We will treat Gizmo as well for the bacterial infection. It originated with the breeder. Thanks for the info., though.

2009-10-07huston10101010Noyeah, it seems stable. after i wrote you, i saw stuff about "degloving" and realized that, due to it's small size, it wasn't a worry. but thank you so much for your time and answer. this site is invaluable!

2009-10-03Rosina10101010YesThanks so much Janell for your welcomed reply. The vet didn't do a biopsy as he seemed to know straight away that it was Breast Cancer. I would like to let you know if she comes through the operation or not. If that's okay with you. Rosina & Xena
