It is really good to know that an expert such as yourself is willing to take the time to answer the questions of his fans and followers; and I would now like to consider myself one of your fans, it is an honor. I am 22 years old and over the past few years my taste for rock n roll has matured to say the least. I sat down a couple months back and listened to all the old Zeppelin albums that my dad had stored away in the basement (side 2 of Led Zeppelin III is by far my favorite, not sure why lol, but it is). Anyway, I just finished Hammer but I need to know more about the band, more about the history of these great musicians. If what you say is true about Hammer, that some of it is glorified and exaggerated, then where else can I go for my next step in studying Led. Is there a book that you suggest? Should I read books by Crowley? An auto-biography? Journals? I guess I've reached that point where I need to ..... |

Think it may have been an unscheduled concert in the bandshell in May/June 1969, either just before or just after the Fillmore concerts. They would have been in town then. It was not July-Aug, cause I had a summer job away from the City and went to Woodstock that summer. I remember feeling that it was great to hear Zep and that school was almost out for the summer. It was that great feeling students get in May-June when they are looking at 2 months off. Many thanks for the research. |
