2009-10-15Fran10101010YesThank you for the information. You are right to ask about my tolerance for what the cat brings into the house. I plan to be as observant as possible. I think that the scorpions will have less areas to hide in after all of the leaves have fallen and I can get the all of the leaf debris cleaned up off the sidewalk and out of the underlying vegetation. With the intermittent rains recently, I've needed to sweep up leaves almost daily, but I haven't tackled the flowerbed. Thanks again!!
2009-10-15Eshinee10101010YesThanks for setting our minds at ease so quickly, Nathan. At least if the curious kids do start handling them, they'll know that a rush trip to the clinic won't be the first thing they need to worry about. Have a great day!
2009-10-14cs10101010YesThanks for the idea on how I can test it! I wasn't sure how I could test that question for my science project, but I really wanted to do my project on that idea. Your guys website really helps, and you answered in record time! Thanks again and God Bless You!!(faith makes miracles)

Nathan for your fast and knowledgable answers this is twice now I have chosen to ask your advice on two different insects and both times you answerd fast and correct I also appreciate the background info you give on the creatures. I have seen some responses that are a bit lacking in the past from others. Thanks Again.

2009-08-13Melissa10101010YesThank you very much. My friends were afraid they might be some sort of stinging insect that might harm their dog. This should put their minds at ease a bit.
2009-08-12Shannon881010NoThanks he was dead due to some parasites. I found three grubs inside the container.
2009-08-10Monica79910NoThanks for taking the time to answer. I do appreciate it. Since the borax is all over my house already, I'm going to leave it there as I'm sure it is at the very least a deterrent, and I'm still hoping it does more. Things have slowed down. I may look at the flea powder. As for the spray, past experience has taught us it is not effective on these things. Not even the exterminator's spray.

Expertise

I have expertise in identifying insects, many types of spiders, and other arthropod critters that infest lawns, ornamentals, structures, trees, pets and livestock. Mites are not a strong point of mine, but I can provide some help. I'm not a licensed doctor, so I cannot provide medical diagnosis of conditions possibly related to insects. If you've got an interesting photo for me to see, let me know and I'll give you my email so the picture will get to me. If you have hosted an insect photo on a website, please include the link so I can go look at it and provide a faster ID for you. Don't forget...you can now attach pictures to your questions as well!
