| 2009-08-21 | Lesley | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | Yes | Wow, how fantastic. How on earth did you know, just like that. I could almost think you also learnt it at your mothers knee like I did but she only ever told me part of the text. Likewise in a question you answered for someone else on "Keeping his word". I only knew part of the text and now have the full version(s) thanks to you. I think these types of poetry are delightful and I can't thank you enough. |
| 2009-08-03 | Pam | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | Yes | What a wonderful Sunday afternoon. I was able to read three of the children poems my precious mom would always recite for me whenever we were sharing time together. I never grew too old to hear them.Happy memories for me now and happy memories for her at the time. It was part of her youth in the mountains of North Carolina. She told me that students were made to memorize poems to help develop their minds. She never lost the love of poetry. Thank you so very much for finding the poems for me and sending them so quickly. It defintely "made my day." |

My mother was of British ancestory and she also taught grade 5 for thirty years. I wonder if either of these facts might give a hint as to the source of this poem. Again I thank you for your prompt reply. I will be away for a few days but will be sure the check right away to see if I have another note from you. |
