2009-11-22Nick1071010NoThanks. I wasn't sure what was meant by crossover wings as I wasn't able to get the burner out for a close inspection. Finally got it out and I see the flat pieces between burners are made of two thin metal pieces and have a gap of maybe 1/16th inch between them. Apparently this is what carries the flame to the next burner. These gaps were full of rust. I cleaned it out best I could and early results are that it now seems to be lighting reliably.

You are a wonderful person for helping out desparate people like us. We have three children and times are so tough this year. It is unbelievable that a couple hundred dollars on repairs would hurt us so much. You are a Godsend. Thank you and God Bless you.
