The motherboard was the problem, and General Electric did send me one for free once I told them that I had a copy of this letter, the author's name and so on. Also, per the advice I got on this site, I did not bother with a repairman, and installed it myself. I appreciate your prompt response, thorough consideration of both my submittals, and of course, your steering me to where I could do this without cost to me.

The freezer is working find now with my food frozen, I think. I turn back on the ice maker and it makes ice and now has no buzzing sound. I will definitely write back when the reg is broken again, hopefully not soon, but weiry of this problem. I appreciate your service. This is a cool service you are providing. Thanks, Bruce
