| 2009-08-19 | Joel | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | Yes | Nick, Thanks you so much for your quick responses. As a side note, on a trip through Alabama this summer, my brother and I went by my Grand Mother's old house. We found it still standing and about the same as we remembered it. The house was for sale but the reason I mention all of this is one thing I remembered visiting when I was little was the smell of the fig trees in her back yard. The fig trees were still there so I took a large cutting and my wife propagated the branch into 8 separate pots six of which rooted and are leafing. The euphoric nostalgia of the smell from the fig plants is beyond words... Thanks again. JJP |

| 2009-06-20 | SUSAN | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | Yes | Thanks, Nick.....I am pretty sure I didn't pot it correctly and that drainage is part of the problem! It would be very difficult to repot it now because its tendrils have would up the lattice, it has bloomed (very fragrant!) and pulling it out of the pot might damage it.....so.....I will try spraying it for the fungus and only watering it once a week until it gets hot (I'm in LA!)....Thanks again and regards, Sue :O) |

| 2009-04-10 | Marie | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | Yes | Thank you very much for your help. I too wondered about the depth of the containners. Maybe I will do herbs and lavender. The bottoms are not solid wood, there are three seperaate pieces of wood forming the bottom, the suggestion of using the black weed fabric was to help retain moisture and keep the soil from falling thru. Again, You have been very helpful. What a wonderful link this site is. Here's to gardening, Marie |
