| 2009-11-23 | fred | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | No | Timely response. It is only a slight overstatement to say that I had my answer almost before I finished typing my question. Thanks Tom. Probably not a rabbit or deer problem. My garden is on a terrace about 90 feet in the air. Nothing is eating the leaves during the day. If leaves are being eaten, its only happening at night. |

We are required to do a class project.I'm thinking about trying differnt forms of seed germination with some of the hard shell seeds that I have in my garden to see what happens. I don't have it all figured out yet. If you can think of any more hard shell perennial seeds that I can try let me know.Again thanks for your help |

I have been growing plants from seeds for at least 20 years. I have grown literally hundreds of different kinds of vegetables, trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, tropicals, some cacti, water plants, iris, rose, lilies, cannas, etc. I enjoy starting from seed.
I've been growing my own seeds for 20 years with indoor propagation equipment I built myself. I am also an Allexperts volunteer on the perennial forum. I have completed the Master Gardener course through the Kansas State University Extension. I have experience with a wide variety of seeds and I have also read through Norm Deno's books on seed germination.
