2009-10-13NissaWhite & Green mold101010YesThank you very much for you time and input. I have identified a local nursery and visited them today. I believe I have the right resource for my "local" education. Hard to believe an Oregonian over watered in Arizona. LOL I shall till the soil for a few weeks and continue to inspect it. He also offered to perform a PH test of my soil if I bring it in. we agreed I'd wait until I feel I no longer see evidence of the mold. Thank you again for your clear and accurate communicataion. It's nice to know I don't have the back breaking work of digging out all my soil ahead of me. Warmest Regards, Nissa

2009-09-15cynthiaoily sand101010YesThank-you very much for your response to the question. All the gardening soil is filled with this absorbtion problem. I had also planted day lilies which are pretty hardy even in the worst conditions. All the plants used to be in a clay mix. I thought maybe it was shock until I watered them and could determine the condition of the planting medium. I had bought some hosta's at the local chain store and it appears the store also had packed the new plants in some kind of chips. Considering the time of year and just being exhausted from the hard scaping that I was also doing, I hope they can last with excessive water until the spring. Again, thank-you. Please feel free to post this also as as follow-up. The sandy soil in the Carolina's question I read was certainly a different condition. This particular problem is in Indiana 5 miles away from lake michigan. Your the perfect 10

Yes, I have seen voles close to the Hydrangea and Rhodos and I've noticed the rhodos are starting to also look droopy. Thanks again for this service.
