2009-11-22clem10101010Yesthanks so much for your detailed explanation. Since the car was running perfectly before this happened, I suspect a bushing in the control arm or something that positions the differential must have failed to the point that this could happen. One dealer mechanic suggested the c clip shown in the parts diagram I received would possibly be broken, but should come out with the axle rather than having to be put in with the cover off the differential and if it were broken it might cause the gears to be damaged. I'm thinking that the control arm slack or the differential mount are at fault rather than the axle itself, or the retaining c clip has somehow failed. What would be wrong with the axle itself? Thanks again.

2009-11-16Ann10101010YesThank you for your assistance Von. I attempted to follow your suggestions but could not resolve the issue primarily due to my novice level and impatience. I recently transported family to the airport and suspect that something came loose while loading luggage in the truck. Thank you again, I appreciate your advice. Ann

2009-11-13Billy10101010YesVon, I have waited about 10 days to see if this problem still existed. After receiving your response, and checking with my mechanic, he was still trying to figure out why this car was lousing power, I ask if it would offend him if I suggest a possible solution that I got from an expert on the internet and he said "Lord no,I'm open to any suggestion". I told him what you said could be the cause. He said "he would check it out. My man, I think you hit the nail on the head, we've not had any more problem, thank you, thank you for your expertise. Billy

2009-10-29Tim10101010YesYou were spot on. Thank you so much for your advice. My own thinking was too disorganised - I had incorrectly tested the switch and decided it was fine. I have replaced the switch and everything is working. You saved me a heap of money. Thanks again.
