2008-11-11Jaycie10101010YesThank you so much for your help. I really liked the Sarah story too. I will look into John Bytheway. I'll also think about what I feel would be best for the youth in the ward individually. Thanks again.
2008-11-10Nick Batchelor751010No Aloha Melissa! Thank you very much for responding to my recent question. “If Jesus is not the Father yet the Bible tells us many times that Jehovah (YHWH) is the Father, how is Jesus then Jehovah???” I see what you are trying to say and I appreciate it your thoughtful explanation. I am sorry that I did not supply examples of passages that speak of Jehovah as the Father. I took for granted you were well aware of them. Here are a few examples: (Please see Deuteronomy 32:6; Psalms 89:26; Isaiah 63:16; Isaiah 64:16) There are many more. The Scriptures unite in telling us this. You are correct that Jesus can be a “father” to us, but it is in a much different sense as his Father Jehovah. He is “a father” in the same way that Adam was a father to mankind. Jesus is actually referred to as ‘the last or second Adam” and Jesus was everything that Adam was suppose to be. We gain back what Adam lost,a prospect of everlasting life thanks to what Christ did giving up his life in behalf of Adam's children.

Expertise

I cannot answer whether or not to divorce someone. I cannot tell you explicitly what to do in any said situation (each person has their own free agency to make their own choice, I only advise). I cannot replace a visit to the bishop. I will look at the situation as unbiasly as possible. I can answer word of wisdom, scripture reference, clergy, organizational, social aspects, easter versus christmas, and semi-taboo subjects (eg. birth control).

Experience

I grew up in the church and continue participating fully in my local ward.
