I guess my biggest frustration in this abdominoplasty hernia surgery is the lack of urgency all of my doctors have had concerning not just the post surgical healing but also the quality of life which has been so interrupted because of the complications. I've forgot to mention, I've resorted to anti depressants (effexor xr 37.5mg)given my out of the ordinary level of sadness and low tolerance of patience in this. It had been suggested by my surgeon who performed the surgery to consider taking anti depressants because of my lack of coping. Sometimes, I truly believe Doctors have lost the level of empathy and compassion needed for patients who struggle with post op complications. It was even suggested I have a low tolerance level of pain; I reminded him I have had 4 natural deliveries with my children with no pain medication, and believe narcotic use is only used in dire pain situations. I know my threshold and believe with all my heart my discomfort is a secondary issue to the complication. I am not heard and considering he is one of few surgeons ..... |

Education/Credentials
Dr. Engler graduated from Yale University (undergraduate) and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University (medical school). He did his residency training in General Surgery and, after that, Plastic Surgery, at the Montefiore Medical Center in New York. He is on the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
