It is extremely difficult to find a Doctor that will take the time needed to help a person and he did all that for free! An amazing guy should be voted the best Doctor of the year! I had almost given up on the medical profession and was pretty much expecting the same treatment here. You have helped me to regain some hope!!! I consulted with a Dietician in August who in fact specialises in Genetics (at the time I made the appointment it was in fact unknown to me that this is her speciality). Upon advising her of all my chronic conditions she immediately pointed out that I clearly have a genetic problem. I have undergone a series of blood tests and currently await the final report from the Geneticist (which seems to be taking forever mind you). The Dietician is working alongside a general practioner, and once they have more answers they will then consult with my various specialists. Thank you so very much for your answer! |

I do have him on the colchicine and he has been since age 4, we had to make it in a liquid form at that age. We dont currently see a nephrologist though, I would consider that additional opinion. Thanks to the person who replied on 10/10/07. I would be very interested in responding via email with that person if possible, if they were interested. I have never found another one with FMF! I am clinic and medical director of over 24 out patient facilities in the Chicago land area. I am on staff at Olympia Fields Osteopathic Hospital (St. James) and in active private practice.
