Important:

Please read the following and "Instructions from the Expert" carefully before you post the question:

  • Please don't set your question to private unless it will personally identify you. The public questions will get high priority to be answered and can benefit more users. Don't put your personal information in the question.

  • After you submit your question, we'll send you an email as a receipt. You will be notified when the answer is ready. Please make sure your email server does not block or filter out emails from allexperts.com.

Instructions from the Expert:

I will *NOT* answer any questions marked PRIVATE.

Also, please don't ask me any VAGUE questions like, "how can I lose 50 pounds in a week," or "what kind of exercises should I do." If you just want GENERAL weight-loss, nutrition, or exercise information, visit my web site:

http://www.RicksWeightLoss.com?key=AllExperts

There's a TON of great information on diet, nutrition, weight-loss, exercises, weight-lifting, and sports on that site.

If you have SPECIFIC questions, such as "what kind of exercises can I do to lose my belly?" then I'll answer them. In this case, the answer is "you can't spot-reduce fat. Fat comes off your whole body equally."

Also, I AM NOT A DOCTOR or a nutritionist. If you are having problems feeling dizzy or unable to concentrate, or you want to know if green tea extract is healthy for you, CONSULT A PHYSICIAN. I am a *WEIGHT LOSS* expert. I can recommend a diet and exercise routine to LOSE WEIGHT. I can't diagnose medical conditions or recommend odd supplements.

The more information you give me about YOURSELF (height, weight, age, gender, diet, exercise routine, job, lifestyle, etc.) the better I can help you. Also, I do NOT give weight loss advice to CHILDREN. If you're under the age of 18, please ask your doctor or parents for advice.

Also, I'm in the United States, so please don't give me metric measurements. Yes, I know them, but converting between the two makes me angry. :)

Expertise

I am happy to answer any questions from those who are overweight and want to learn how to lose weight through proper diet and exercise. I spent a year of my life studying weight loss and brought myself from 340 pounds down to a healthy 185 pounds the RIGHT way: no fad diets, pills, or crazy machines - just healthy eating and some moderate exercise. I'm happy to share my knowledge with you. I also have my own web site at RicksWeightLoss.com

Experience

My knowledge is all practical, life experience. I spent over a year reading dozens of books, online literature, magazines, and lots of other sources. I've studied nutrition, weight-lifting, bodybuilding, exercise science, and many other fitness-related fields.

Education/Credentials
I have no formal education in fitness or nutrition. But, then again, I am a computer programmer and trainer with no formal education in my field either. I'm completely self-taught in everything I do. However, I can give you plenty of tips and pointers on how to safely lose weight.
