I am a consumer oriented licensed funeral director and embalmer, having assisted thousands of families over the past 30 years. I am glad to help folks with do it yourself questions also, have actual practical experience in the field, and will give a thoughtful unbiased response to your question.

Experience

Licensed funeral director since 1976 and licensed embalmer since 1983. I have assisted with all types of funerals, including home funerals and burials, green burials, medical school body donations, and cremations.

Regular contributor to "The American Funeral Director" magazine, which is the century old trade journal for the funeral profession.

Education/Credentials
Associate degree in Mortuary Science from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. Graduated in 1983. I also worked as an ambulance paramedic from 1979 - 1998.

Awards and Honors
MuSigma Award for academic excellence from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science in 1983. This award is the highest honor given to one member of each graduating class.
