I have been a Seventh-day Adventist for 36 years. I know this faith well. I can bring to light all the condemnations of the church based on false beliefs and accusations based on partial truth or ignorance.
I was baptized an SDA when I was 12 years old. I have studied long and hard, not only on this belief system, but many others as well. The SDA church DOES NOT proclaim EGW as a prophet; however, and very sadly, there are those within the church that proclaim such untruth. Most of what EGW wrote was for the benefit of a particular person to whom she was addressing. Other writings were based on "new truth" discovered by not only her, but others that studied with her. Her "visions" are another story, and, well...that's a whole other area of debate. The Seventh-day Sabbath is not an OT "law," but it is part of the 10 Commandments. You can't do away with that...it is what it is. According to Hebrews 4:9, 10: "There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His." It doesn't get any clearer than that.
Education/Credentials
As far a theological credentials, I do not have any. However, a piece of paper does not make one knowledgeable in an area of study. It is experience. I have over 36 years of experience.
