| Question: | Dianne: How would you teach a Bielman position to a skater? Also, after they master the position, do you have tips for doing the Bielman Spiral and Bielman Spin? |
| Answer: | Hi, it is not easy! Definately work off ice first. Then it is learning to find your blade on a glide as well as spinning. After many months or so, perhaps you will be ready to pull up. Flexibility is your biggest friend here! Good luck with it, Dianne PS. Not everyone can do it! For some the pain it causes is not worth it! I can answer questions about figure skating, choreography, ISI or USFSA. Also questions about competing (my Olympic experience or your own competition). I`m a National referre for ISI. Recently I also have been appointed a National Technical Specialist for US Figure Skating. But remember I am not your substitute for a coach! They can see what you are doing! To correct or instruct you on manuevers is really not what I want to do.
